As I sit here writing this blog, I am also quietly jumping for joy! My terns made the re-tern trip to Californa (yes, sorry for the pun) and are getting ready for the breeding season to begin. All indications are that California may again have a big year as there is no confirmed nesting on historical nesting sites on Isla Rasa in the Midriff Islands of the Gulf of California. Sea surface temperatures have been warm most of the winter and NOAA is calling for a summer switch to El Nino conditions. Oh boy!
